Committing to your first tattoo can be very intimidating, the following is a run down of what you can expect to happen before, during, and after your tattoo with me.
Consultation:
Consultations are a conversation between the potential client and artist to review the details of the tattoo. Consultations are free of charge. I begin my consultation process by having you fill out an Appointment Request Form so that I can gather as much information as possible about what you're looking for up front. I'll email you to discuss when I receive your form.
Quote:
Once I feel that I have all of the information that I need to prepare your design, I'll provide a quote. For smaller pieces, the quote will be a set dollar amount. For larger pieces that will take several sessions, I'll provide an estimate of time and the actual cost will reflect the time it takes to complete your tattoo. (All quotes and hourly fees include tax, so the price I give is the actual price you pay)
Deposit:
Along with the quote, I'll email you my deposit waiver form and instructions to pay your deposit. If you are not sure about any aspect of your tattoo idea, or not sure if I'm the right artist for the job, or if you are anything less then 100% enthusiastic about getting the tattoo we discussed, I recommend stopping here.
Only commit to your artist with a deposit when you are ready to book your tattoo.
Booking your appointment:
Once you've paid your deposit, my amazing assistant Violet takes over. Vi manages my schedule and will find us the perfect appointment day and time.
Please note: I do not send any drawings out via email. You will see your tattoo design when you arrive for your appointment, and if any small changes are needed, I'll be able to make them at that time.
Preparing for your appointment:
To have the best tattoo experience, take care of your body before your appointment. Stay hydrated, get a good night's sleep, and eat a substantial meal within a few hours of your appointment. I recommend bringing water/juice and a snack to your appointment. Also, avoid caffeine (day of), alcohol (day of and day before), and sun exposure (week before). Exfoliating and moisturizing the area we'll be tattooing also helps!
Your appointment waiver form will arrive in your inbox 48 hours before your appointment, be sure to fill it in and submit it before your appointment.
At the shop:
When you arrive for your appointment, I'll bring you to my station and show you where to put your coat/water/etc.
Next we'll review the design, and when it's ready, place the stencil on your body, and make sure that we're both happy with how it looks on you. I'll explain what I'm doing, and when we're starting. Your ongoing consent is important; you can ask for breaks, or to stop, at any point during our appointment.
After your tattoo:
When we're done, I'll wrap up your tattoo and you'll pay the remaining balance (your deposit goes toward the total). Full aftercare instructions will be emailed to you, and you can find them here too. Violet will check in 4 weeks after your tattoo to see how it's healing and if we need to book a touch up (a short appointment where we fix anything that may not have healed ideally, it doesn't cost any extra).
Once you leave, I'm still here for you. If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know!
